The 10th National Congress on Experimental Mechanics - CNME2016 will take place in the Congress Centre of the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering, from 12 to 14 October 2016. This congress is directed at all researchers, teachers, technicians and students working in the various thematic areas of Experimental Stress Analysis and Experimental Mechanics.

As a trigger for scientific and technological development, the subject of experimental mechanics has assumed a key importance in the characterization of materials and in the behaviour of structures and components in various fields of science and engineering. Experimental analysis has also been applied as a physical basis for the verification and validation of numerical and analytical models that aim to simulate and predict the behaviour of materials and structures. Furthermore, there have been major developments and improvements in experimental techniques and procedures. As in the previous gatherings, the 10th National Congress on Experimental Mechanics - CNME2016 will be an important forum for the dissemination and discussion of the latest advances and trends in the fields of Experimental Stress Analysis and Experimental Mechanics applied to engineering problems, as well as in fundamental research in the various science branches, including biology, materials, medicine, etc.
